BnʼML - Behavioral & Molecular Lab is based in Braga, at the University of Minho and operates since 2012 in close association with the Institute for Research in Life and Health Sciences (ICVS). Its activities rely on the specialization and extensive research activity applied to the evaluation of the behavioral, cellular and molecular effects of drugs, in both in vitro and in vivo non-human models.
Bn'ML's mission is to optimize the screening process for compounds of interest, in a preclinical phase, supporting the transition to the clinical trials phase. So, it provides services for behavioral, cellular and molecular analysis of the therapeutic potential of compounds.
Bn’ML is also devoted to fundamental research that further sustains innovation in novel methods and technologies, based on the most recent advances and trends in the field. Moreover, Bn’ML is actively involved in education and training of graduate and postgraduate students, as a partner in the PhD program in Applied Health Sciences (University of Minho) and in providing short and long-term internships to students.
The expertise of its team ranges from basic neuroscience, namely neural plasticity and neurophysiology, to applied preclinical research.
